Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today stated that the TRS government was committed to the welfare of the physically challenged just as it was to the welfare for all others in need.
He participated in the distribution of modified tricycles and bikes to the eligible disabled beneficiaries under the Gift A Smile program at the People's Plaza.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, "This program aims to offer meaningful help to the disabled. Today, more than 250 custom made vehicles have been given to the beneficiaries. The Gift A Smile (GAS) program has been helping people in need in a wide variety of ways. I am extremely happy to have been able to participate in today's GAS event. I must also laud the leaders of the TRS for honouring my appeal of not putting up flex banners on my birthday to avoid unnecessary expenditure, and to instead help those in need."
"Last year too, I celebrated my birthday by distributing 100 ambulances. It is time to spend on the welfare of the poor and the disabled. And it makes me happy to see that many TRS leaders have been coming forward to support our welfare initiatives," he added.
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao and several local leaders were also present at the event
