Hyderabad | 4th March 2020
IT and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao today exhorted the transportation department officials to have the handles and steel rods in the public transport vehicles cleaned with chlorine to keep the dreaded coronavirus or other diseases away.

The minister tagged on Twitter a photograph of a Karnataka bus being cleaned by a woman member of the crew with chlorine, and directed the officials of the TSRTC and the Metro Rail to adopt the same measures.

"This will help prevent the spread of any sort of virus or disease from one person to another," he said.

KTR asked Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar to direct the officials to immediately implement the practice in the public transport vehicles.

The state government had intensified measures to prevent and check the spread of coronavirus, KTR added.
