Telangana NRI Affairs Minister K T Rama Rao today urged Union Minister Of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj to initiate the necessary measures to provide complete job and social security to the NRIs working in the Gulf nations, and monitor visa agents to prevent fraud.
He also reportedly appealed to Swaraj to send trained personnels to the Middle-East nations through government agencies and discourage fraudulent private agencies.
Rao reportedly also discussed the safe release of a Telangana-based university professor named Balram Kishan, who was kidnapped in Libya recently. And he also sought immediate measures to bring back the Telugu people stranded in prisons across the Middle East.
KTR said, "I have sought the cooperation of the Ministry Of External Affairs to protect NRIs hailing from Telangana. I also suggested to her that she appoint officials with command over the Telugu language in the offices of the Indian envoys in the Gulf nations, and urged a detailed report on the Indians living there, and on those who are planning to go there."
