Former minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Tuesday indicated that he might quit the Congress soon.
Addressing mandal Congress party workers at Kanagal in Nalgonda, Komatireddy said that he would announce his future course of action if Congress president Sonia Gandhi fails to fulfil the promise of giving statehood for the Telangana region.
Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy and other senior leaders were present on the dais when Komatireddy delivered his speech.
Earlier, addressing the workers, Komatireddy praised former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and described him as his guru (mentor). He said that it was YSR who had encouraged him in politics, and had also selected him out of 7 MLAs in the district, for the cabinet minister's post. (INN)
