Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Meets PM Modi For 20 Minutes
The Congress leader and MP claimed to have held discussions with the PM over the problems being faced by the people of his Lok Sabha constituency Bhongir.
Senior Congress leader and MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held discussions with him reportedly over the problems being faced by the people of his Lok Sabha constituency Bhongir.
Speaking to media persons later, Komatireddy said that he had held discussions with the Prime Minister for 20 minutes, and thanked the PM for giving him an appointment.
Komatireddy said that he had also raised the issue of the pollution in the Musi river, and had urged the PM to take steps for its beautification on the lines of the Sabarmati river of Gujarat. He claimed that Modi had responded positively to his request and had promised to constitute a committee for the beautification of the river soon.
Komatireddy also said that he had also raised the issue of the expansion of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway and had told the PM that the non-expansion of the highway was causing a lot of accidents on the road. He said that he had also urged the PM to extend the existing MMTS train services to Jangaon and Bhongir, and that the extension of the services would help all those who planned to visit the famous Yadadri temple.
Reddy said that he would soon meet Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the same issue.
He also asked media persons not to ask him about Congress activities. He said that he was no more a star campaigner of the party, and reiterated his statement that he would talk about politics only starting from one month before the next Assembly elections, and that he would also give clarity over his continuation in politics before the Assembly elections.
He also said he would also take a call on whether to contest as an MLA or an MP based on the political situation in the State just before the Assembly elections.
