Modi Squandered Chance To Punish Pakistan: CM

Speaking at the Jain Hind rally, the Telangana CM slammed Modi for calling off the war at the behest of US President Donald Trump.
Hyderabad | 29th May 2025
Following a call given by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the Telangana Congress, led by TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, organised a "Jai Hind" rally from VNR Vigyan Jyoti Engineering College to KGR Convention Centre on Bachupally Road in the Qutubullapur constituency today.

A public meeting was later held at the KGR Convention Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that while all political parties, including the Congress, had extended their support to the Union government after the Pahalgam incident and demanded that Pakistan be erased from the world map, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to give Pakistan a befitting response and had mortgaged India's interests to US President Donald Trump.

Strongly criticising the Modi government for calling off the war at the behest of US President Donald Trump, he recalled the "indomitable" leadership of Indira Gandhi, and spoke about her "strong warning" to the US when it tried to mediate between India and Pakistan during the 1971 war. Indira Gandhi had taught Pakistan a befitting lesson by dividing the country into two during the conflict, and in the same spirit Pakistan should once again have been split into two nations, but Modi squandered the chance, he lamented.

The CM criticised the Modi government for calling off the war hurriedly, just four days after the military strike on Pakistan. "Why was no all-party meeting convened to seek the opinions of all parties before declaring a ceasefire?" he asked.

He explained that the Congress was organising the Jai Hind Yatra to instill self-confidence among Indian soldiers who were demoralised by the BJP's actions, and asked why the BJP leadership was organising a "Tiranga Rally" after the end of the conflict when the conflict had achieved nothing.

Calling Narendra Modi a spent force, Reddy urged Congress leaders and workers to strive hard and not relax until Rahul Gandhi became the Prime Minister. He said that India needed a strong leader like Rahul Gandhi in these challenging times.
