Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's government for not paying salaries to employees and pensions to pensioners even despite half the ongoing month having passed.
In his letter, Komatireddy demanded that the salaries and pensions be released at least now. He said that the employees were facing a lot of difficulties due to the non-payment of their salaries and the resulting non-payments of EMIs.
He also said that the salaries should be paid on the first days of at least the next two months.
The MP also said that as soon as the Congress came to power, the OPS (Old Pension Scheme) would be implemented in Telangana for all the government employees.
Speaking with the media too later on the issue, Komatireddy said, "Employees should be paid their salaries on the first of every month. For the past one year, salaries have been paid to the employees on the 13th and the 14th of every month. That has resulted in their not being able to pay their EMIs on time, and their credit scores suffering. The employees are worried now that they will not be able to get loans in the future as they have become defaulters due to the delays in being paid their salaries."
Komatireddy also complained to the media that he was not being given an appointment with KCR despite asking for one.
"The BRS gives more time to the Kaleshwaram project contractors and land grabbers than to the State's MPs. It is the misfortune of the people to have a CM like KCR," he lamented.
Commenting on the party's election campaign, he said, "We will start our election campaign from tomorrow. The BRS leaders said that they were adopting Nalgonda district. If it is adopted, why has the Brahmana Vellama project not been completed? Why has the Essel BC tunnel not been completed? Thousands of houses have been constructed in Gajwel and Siddipet. Why has not even a single house has been constructed in Nalgonda?"
He also said that houses had been demolished for road expansion in Nalgonda but no compensation had been given so far, but the BRS office had been constructed.
"It is the responsibility of the Nalgonda people to ensure that the candidates of the BRS, which has cheated them in the name of adoption, do not get even their deposits in the upcoming elections," Komatireddy said. He also said that the Congress would give compensation to those who lost their lands after coming into power.
