Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy today visited and inspected the two newly installed PSA oxygen plants at the Hyderabad-based Gandhi Hospital, sponsored by the PM-CARES Fund. Each plant produces 1,000 litres of oxygen per minute
The minister, during his inspection, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning the two plants to the hospital, a specialised Covid-19 treatment facility.
While there, he also inspected the ICU wards and enquired about the treatment being administered to the patients admitted there. The hospital superintendent answered the queries of the minister, and also informed him about the progress of the patients.
Reddy then interacted with 110-year-old Ramananda Teerthulu, the oldest person in India to recover from Covid-19. Praising the man's resilience, he said, "Ramananda Teerthulu's self-confidence, perseverance and will to fight is an inspiration to all."
Further, he visited the hospital's library block to inspect it after its recent conversion into an additional Covid-19 facility. The wing houses 300 beds, each equipped with medical oxygen support. It will open to patients from the coming week
