Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao today inaugurated the Kisan Agri Show and a three-day workshop named "Innovative Technologies in Horticulture Crop Production and Value Addition" at Hitex in Hyderabad.
The event is being jointly organised by the Telangana Horticulture Officers Association and the Kisan Team in collaboration with the State Horticulture Department.
Addressing farmers at the event, the minister said that agri shows like that played a key role in making new technologies accessible to farmers.
He said that the State government was implementing various initiatives not only to expand the cultivation of horticultural crops in Telangana but also to achieve self-sufficiency in production and enhance farmers' capacity to export their produce to foreign markets.
"In the coming days, we will encourage farmers to adopt new trends and technologies in horticultural crop cultivation, and engage in food processing at the village level to add value to their produce," Rao said.
