Hyderabad | 9th December 2010
The Opposition will attempt to target the ruling Congress, especially N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who will be the Leader of the House for the first time in the Assembly during the winter session beginning from Friday.
KKR has already directed his cabinet colleagues, and other secretaries of all the departments to be on their toes, and be ready with all files and data to put a check on the expected onslaught of the Opposition.
Aspirant to the Speaker's post, Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar, who is expected to chair the House, will be keenly watched by not only by the MLAs, but also by the Congress High Command on how he manages to conduct the proceedings.
For Kiran Reddy, the going may be tougher since he is not known for his oratorical skills, unlike former Chief Minister, the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and his successor K Rosaiah, who subdued the opposition with their colloquial remarks.
Meanwhile, TDP sources say that the Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu has sought support from other opposition parties to corner the government on various issues like the MSP on paddy, SC categorization, the lifting of police cases against agitators for and against Telangana, and deletion of Clause 14 (F).
