Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday compared the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to the Phailin cyclone that hit the state recently.
However, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that while Cyclone Phailin could not be stopped, the "bifurcation typhoon" would be prevented.
He made these remarks while interacting with coconut/cashew farmers at the Devudu Gudi Thota near Kaviti of Srikakulam district during his tour of cyclone-hit areas on Sunday.
He, however, avoided questions on the state's bifurcation issue and said that it was not the proper place and time to speak about it.
The Chief Minister was apparently upset over the protests held at Visakhapatnam Airport upon his arrival on Sunday.
A few Samaikyandhra activists tried to block his convoy while raising slogans such as "CM Go Back" in favour of united Andhra Pradesh.
A few activists were also taken into the custody by the police. (INN)
