Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has congratulated S Siddaramaiah on the latter's election as the Chief Minister designate of Karnataka.
Speaking with Siddaramaiah over phone, this morning, the Chief Minister said, "We are happy that the people of Karnataka have reposed their confidence in the leadership of Sonia Gandhiji and Rahul Gandhi, and have voted the Congress party into power."
The Chief Minister expressed his pleasure on Siddaramaiah's appointment, and said that the two southern states (Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka) were the prime repositories for the Congress' strength in the south.
He fondly recalled his own election campaign, and remarked that the love and affection shown towards the party by the people of Karnataka is admirable. He wished Siddaramaiah to have many such successful ventures in the future.
At the moment, the incumbent chief minister of Karnataka is Jagadish Shettar of BJP. (INN)
