Palamuru - Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme Inaugurated

Kicking off the Palamuru - Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS), Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao switched on the first pump of the Narlapur pump-house of the project near Yellur in Nagarkurnool district today.

The Chief Minister switched on the 145 MW capacity motors at the Narlapur pump-house and launched the pumping of the water from the Krishna river. With the press of a button, the lifting of the Krishna waters into the Anjanagiri (Narlapur) reservoir which is two kilometres away began.

To mark the occasion, KCR performed a special puja at the venue and offered "jala harathi" to the river waters.

Ministers Niranjan Reddy, Srinivas Goud, Malla Reddy, Patnam Mahender Reddy and Sabitha Indra Reddy, local MLA Beeram Harshvardhan Reddy, other MLAs from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts, and some MLCs were present.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and senior officials from other departments were also present.
