Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday demanded that the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi apologise to the people of Telangana for hurting their sentiments.
Addressing a public meeting in Banswada of Nizamabad district, KCR alleged that Modi had been making some derogatory remarks about Telangana and its people by comparing it to a tale of a child birth wherein the mother has been killed after the child is born.
Ridiculing Modi's analogy, KCR said that Modi had no knowledge about the Telangana history, its culture and the movement for statehood.
He advised Modi to stay silent on the Telangana issue, and apologise to the people for hurting their sentiments.
KCR made it clear that his party would never ally with the BJP. He said that the TRS would join the non-Congress, non-BJP front at Centre after the elections.
He promised that the TRS would implement its proposed 12% reservation for the Muslim community in jobs and education in 4 months after coming to power in the Telangana region.
He also promised to empower the Wakf Board to protect its properties, and restore the properties that have been encroached upon.
He appealed to the people not to get misled by the false propaganda of Congress against the TRS.
The TRS chief reiterated that his party would implement all the promises that it had made in the manifesto.
He said that no believed it when the TRS promised to get statehood for the Telangana region. However, backed by the people's support, the TRS was successful in achieving statehood.
Similarly, he said that all the promises that appear impossible for the opponents would be implemented by the TRS. (INN)
