KCR Ruined State's Education System: BC Association

BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah today accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of having destroyed the education system in the state.
Hyderabad | 29th December 2020
The national president of the BC Welfare Association R Krishnaiah today came down heavily on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and accused him of having ruined the education system in the state through his negligence and apathy towards the sector.

He asked the Chief Minister why the government had not yet implemented the 11th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for the state's teachers even after proudly proclaiming that Telangana was a rich state.

Krishnaiah also said that although 40,000 teaching posts were lying vacant, the government had not done anything towards recruiting new teachers for the posts so far, and demanded that the government fill the posts at the earliest.

Commenting on the overall development of Telangana under the TRS regime, he alleged that the CM had simply been twiddling his thumbs for the last six years instead of addressing the various problems being faced by the people of the state.

The TRS government's failure to implement the PRC has attracted widespread criticism against the government from prominent opposition leaders from several political parties and teachers' unions in the state. The delay has prevented the teachers, and various other government employees, from receiving a 30% pay hike this year, which has caused them to organise several protests and agitations against the ruling party.

The delay follows reports that had indicated that the government would not be able to implement the PRC this year as the state's exchequer has been under increased financial strain due to the ongoing pandemic.
