As per the directions issued by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on January 24, the three-member committee constituted to look into the implementation of the eleventh Pay Revision Commission (PRC), headed by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, today held a meeting on the issue at the BRKR Bhavan.
At the meeting, the committee discussed the 11th PRC Report and reportedly decided to hold discussions with various employees associations on the matter of its implementation soon.
A schedule for the proposed meetings was also drawn up.
Along with the PRC Report, the committee also discussed other pressing issues regarding the welfare of the government employees in the state, including time-bound promotions, trauma-free service and the extension of the age of retirement.
The other members of the committee, Principal Secretary (Finance) Ramakrishna Rao and Principal Secretary (Irrigation) Rajat Kumar, also attended the meeting.
The committee has reportedly been instructed to submit a set of recommendations for the implementation of the PRC within the next ten days. The government will then take the necessary action for the implementation.
The Telangana government has been getting much bad press for its "failure" to implement the recommendations of the 11th PRC. TJS chief M Kodandaram had recently even arranged
a 48-hour-long protest to highlight the plight of government employees in the state.
