Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao reiterated in the Telangana Assembly today his government's commitment to recruit for 1.12 lakh jobs in the government as promised, at the earliest.
Intervening during Question Hour in the House, the CM asserted that the government would in fact provide a thousand more jobs than promised.
Taking strong objection to the Congress' making "wild allegations" frequently on this aspect, the CM said that the government would welcome any constructive suggestions in this regard but would not tolerate baseless charges.
Referring to the Congress allegations about irregularities in the conduct of Group II exams and in the functioning of the TSPSC, KCR hailed the "excellent" services being rendered by the TSPSC Chairman Ganta Chakrapani.
He said that the TSPSC Chairman, a dalit leader, had worked in the Open University and earned a great name. As Chairman of TSPSC, he had taken up many revolutionary steps in the young state. This had earned him a lot of appreciation from the UPSC, the Chief Minister said.
The CM also claimed that the state government had initiated a number of novel welfare measures for the education of BCs, STs, SCs and minorities. The Ambedkar Education Scheme was one such program, and all eligible students could avail themselves of assistance for higher education, he said.
