KCR Regularizes Services Of 2,718 Singareni Workers

In a significant development, the Telangana government has taken a decision to regularize the services of 2,718 transfer workers as general mazdoors in Singareni Collieries.
After the TRS-backed Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) swept the Singareni union elections, the state government promised to protect the interests of the workers and provide additional facilities. As part of this, taking orders from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the Singareni management has issued orders regularizing these workers.
Singareni Collieries Chairman and Managing Director Sridhar said that the orders regularizing the 2,718 contract workers as general mazdoors were issued on Monday. The Chief Minister had directed the SCCL to regularize them, he said. The workers would get the copies of the orders in a couple of days, he said.
The government issued orders in this regard to those who had attendance till December 31, 2016. Of the 2,718 workers, there are 2,416 transfer workers, 299 coal fillers, 3 temporary tunneling mazdoors and 21 security guards who will become Jamedars.
Those getting promotions include 699 in Ramagundam area one, 446 in area two and 243 in area three; 426 in the Mandamarri area; 330 in the Bhupalapally area; 269 in the Srirampur area; 266 in the Kothagudem area; 26 in the Manuguru area and 14 in the Bellampally area.
