Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has promised to develop Hyderabad like Dallas in the United States of America.
Addressing the TRS extended session at the R D Convention Hall in Kompally on Tuesday, KCR said that he was firm on developing Hyderabad as a global city.
Stating that despite having a population of nearly one crore, the city lacked basic amenities, he said that the conditions were so worse that the roads at Chief Minister's Office and Raj Bhavan themselves get stagnated after a spell of rains.
The Chief Minister said that it sounded ridiculous when someone called Hyderabad a hi-tech city. The city lacked infrastructure, parks, dhobi ghats and even crematoriums. The entire city had just 24 markets, which were not sufficient for the people.
He announced that the state government would construct new markets at Panjagutta, Malakpet, Erramanzil and other places.
Accusing the opposition parties of being unable to digest the fact that Telangana was moving on the path of growth, he condemned some leaders for targeting the TRS government even on non-issues.
He also slammed a section of the media for criticising his government. Citing an instance, he referred to a headline which said "HC Pulls Up TS Government". He said that the High Court did not pull up the government, but only asked when it was planning to conduct the GHMC elections.
He said that the elections were delayed due to the ongoing delimitation process. (INN)
