KCR Orders Funeral With Police Honours For Palvai
The Telangana CM expressed shock over the sudden demise of Rajya Sabha member Palvai Govardhan Reddy, and ordered that all necessary arrangements be made for a befitting funeral.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed shock over the sudden demise of Rajya Sabha member Palvai Govardhan Reddy.
The CM recalled his personal association with Reddy who he said had a long and impactful political career, and conveyed his condolences to the members of his family.
The CM personally spoke to MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, who was with Govardhan Reddy in the Parliamentary standing committee which met at Kulu Manali, and found out the details of Govardhan Reddy's passing away.
The CM then instructed Chief Secretary S P Singh and Delhi Resident Commissioner Arvind Kumar to arrange a chartered flight to bring the mortal remains of Govardhan Reddy to Hyderabad. He also asked MPs K Keshav Rao and Jithendra Reddy to oversee the arrangements for the shifting of the body and other related tasks.
The Chief Minister also asked the Chief Secretary to make arrangements to conduct the funeral of Govardhan Reddy with police honours.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, too, condoled the sudden demise of Govardhan Reddy, and conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family members.
