Government Whip Anil Kumar on Tuesday accused TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao of enacting a political drama on the Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Anil Kumar alleged that KCR was an opportunist and he had always tried to exploit the political situation in his favour. He said that, if KCR was honest, then instead of joining the Union Cabinet, he would have insisted on Telangana formation in 2004 itself. KCR, said Anil Kumar, has been a "power monger" who frequently changes tactics for political gains.
Anil Kumar said that it was the Congress that had provided a political identity to TRS by leaving 28 seats in Telangana region in the 2004 polls. Now, however, he said, KCR is targeting the same Congress party. He said KCR was too small in stature to make comments on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. (INN)
