KCR Gives Rs 5 Crore To Colonel Santosh Babu's Family
The Telangana CM today visited Suryapet to personally meet and console the family of Colonel Santosh Kumar who was martyred in the recent Indo-China clash.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday visited Suryapet to personally meet and console the family members of Colonel Santosh Kumar who was martyred in the recent Indo-China clash on the border.
KCR along with ministers Jagdeesh Reddy and Vemula Prashanth Reddy, and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, reached Suryapet in the afternoon. He first paid floral tributes to a photograph of Colonel Santosh. Later, he consoled the late Colonel's wife Santhoshi, parents Manjula and Upender, and sister Sruthi.
The CM also spoke to Colonel Santosh's children Abhigna and Anirudh Teja.
The CM then hailed Colonel Santosh for sacrificing his life for the protection of the country. Saying that he was very upset by the death of the Colonel, he promised that he would stand by the latter's family at all times. He said that the family members could contact him whenever they needed anything, and also urged Minister Jagdish Reddy to take care of the family.
The CM then personally handed over a letter appointing Santoshi as a Group I officer. He also handed over a document allotting a 711 sq yard house site in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad and a cheque for Rs 4 crore to Santoshi, and a cheque for Rs 1 crore to the Colonel's parents.
Rajya Sabha members J Santosh Kumar and Badugula Lingaiah, Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Neti Vidyasagar, MLAs Gyaderi Kishore, Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, Chilumarthi Lingaiah, Bhoopal Reddy and Saidireddy, ZP Chairperson Deepika Yugandhar, Municipal Chairperson Annapurnamma, DCCB Chairman Gongadi Mahender Reddy, TRS general secretary Takkellapalli Ravinder Rao and others participated in the program.
