KCR Directs Officials To Thwart Covid Second Wave
The CM instructed officials to take all the necessary measures to prevent a second wave of Covid-19 cases, given cases were on the rise in some other states.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today instructed officials to take all the necessary and possible measures to prevent a second wave of Covid-19 cases in the state, given that the cases were on the rise in some other states of the country.
He also said that all the required measures should be put in place to withstand the emergence of a second wave in the state.
"Covid cases are on the decrease in Telangana. The positive cases are less than 10% of those tested, and the recovery rate is 94.5%. Though people with Covid-19 are suffering a bit, the mortality rate is very low. Yet the government is on high alert and taking all the necessary precautions. 10,000 beds with oxygen facility are ready across the state, and we can increase the number further. As on date, the situation is very much under control," the CM said.
He also urged the people to be cautious and observe self-restraint.
"Wearing masks, maintaining social distance and staying hygienic continue to be the best vaccine to prevent Covid-19," the CM said.
