Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today condemned the "derogatory remarks" of TPCC president Revanth Reddy who allegedly said that the tribals would cast their votes to anyone if they were offered Rs 1,000 and liquor.
Addressing a public meeting at Paleru in Khammam district, the Chief Minister asked if this was the respect given by the Congress to the tribals.
"The tribal people led by the Lambadi Hakkula Porata Samithi are asking an MLA ticket for their leader Bellaiah Naik. But Revanth Reddy has criticised their protest and insulted them by levelling derogatory remarks against the entire tribal community. His remarks show the real culture of the Congress. The people should teach a fitting lesson to it in the upcoming elections," KCR said.
Addressing another public meeting later at the Wardhannapet Assembly constituency in Warangal district, KCR said that Telangana State was not formed easily, and that the Congress had granted the State after causing the deaths of hundreds of people. He also said that the State had been developed in a phased manner during the last nine and half years, and that it was now the most happening State in the country. However, in a bid to come to power, the Congress was once again trying to destabilise the State by offering false declarations. "The people should be cautious with these promises and teach a fitting lesson to the party," he said.
