KCR Calls On Governor; Talks On Naidu, Section 8
The Telangana CM reportedly discussed the current political scenario that had taken a new turn with the seeking of the removal of E S L Narasimhan by the TDP.
Even as the slugfest between the two Telugu States reached its peak and with the Centre reportedly seized of the "note-for-vote" case, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan and closeted with him for some time.
The Chief Minister reportedly discussed the current political scenario that had taken a new turn with the seeking of the removal of Narasimhan by TDP leaders.
Naidu is learnt to have made a strong pitch with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the immediate removal of the Governor for not coming to his rescue or setting things right.
The meeting assumes significance as the Telangana ACB is reportedly getting ready to serve notices to Chandrababu Naidu in the event of getting a report from the forensic lab that the voice resembling his on the audio tapes related to the note-for-vote and phone-tapping row was indeed his.
As is known, Naidu has constituted his own SIT and directed it to submit a report immediately on the imbroglio that led to Revanth Reddy and two "accomplices" being remanded to custody till June 29 after an ACB petition.
Naidu is unhappy with the Centre and the Governor as the entire episode is apparently dragging him into the issue. Based on the SIT's report, Naidu's government is likely to ask its ACB or police department to plunge into action.
In the meeting, KCR shared his views with Narasimhan, and the latter informed the former about the mood of the Centre on the row.
Another issue that is likely to have prominently figured in the meeting was of Naidu exerting pressure on the Centre on the enforcement of the Governor's powers over law and order in Hyderabad through Section 8 of the A P Reorganization Act. (NSS)
