Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was himself corrupt and thus not responding to the Centre's note ban appropriately, CPI General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy claimed that the former had purchased Opposition parties' MLAs using crores of rupees and was trying to see to that there was no Opposition to the TRS in the State.
Addressing the CPI State Construction Workers Maha Sabha on Monday at Gangasani Sathyapal Reddy Nagar in Haritha Convention Hall at Hanamkonda, Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister met the Prime Minister recently only to enter into an agreement with the latter to legalize his black money.
He also accused the Centre of causing severe losses to small traders and common people by demonetizing the two notes.
"The impact of the sudden demonetization created chaos in the lives of common people and made them to beg in front of banks and ATMs for days. The poor are unable to tend to their jobs due to the move," he claimed.
He urged KCR to speak out on the issue.
