Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy accused CM K Chandrashekar Rao of appeasing Qasim Rizvi's political descendants in the MIM and playing votebank politics by not officializing the Hyderabad Liberation Day.
After hoisting the Indian national flag at Gandhi Bhavan to mark Hyderabad's merger with the Indian Union, Reddy pointed out that KCR himself had urged the Congress to mount pressure on the then united AP Chief Minister to make the day official.
"When Karnataka and Maharashtra can officially celebrate our day of freedom, why not Telangana?" he questioned, and threatened KCR with a people's agitation if he did not officialize the day.
