Kavuri Has No Indentity Of His Own: Ponnam
Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar proclaimed that Kavuri has no identity of his own, and that he would be rejected by the people in the Eluru constituency once the Congress party's tag gets removed from his image.
Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday accused Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao of damaging the Congress party in retaliation for denial of a berth in Union Cabinet.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office, Ponnam slammed the Eluru MP for calling the Centre as inefficient. He proclaimed that Kavuri has no identity of his own, and that he would be rejected by the people in the Eluru constituency once the Congress party's tag gets removed from his image. He said that Kavuri has been making statements against the government and the party leadership since he was denied a berth in the Union Cabinet.
Ponnam also condemned Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajgopal for supporting Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. He said that he has lodged a complaint with PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana against Kavuri for criticising the party and the Centre.
The Karimnagar MP also ridiculed Minister Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy's statement wherein he described a minister?s post as a waste paper. Said Ponnam, if the post were that useless, then why was Krishna Reddy continuing in the State Cabinet? He alleged that the minister was making such statements as his son has joined the YSR Congress party.
Ponnam also requested political parties not to link MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi's remarks with the Telangana issue. He said that Telangana issue should not be linked with any religion. (INN)
