Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar today said that the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to BRS MLC Kavitha was the result of the hard work of both the Congress and the BRS.
He added that the BRS played a role in securing the Congress candidate's victory in the Rajya Sabha elections, who in turn argued on Kavitha's behalf in the Supreme Court and secured her bail.
"Congratulations to the Congress and its lawyers for successfully securing bail for BRS MLC K Kavitha in the infamous liquor scam. Your tireless efforts have finally paid off. The BRS leader is out on bail, and the Congress leader is heading for the Rajya Sabha. Hats off to KCR's brilliant political acumen. The BRS is supporting the candidate who argued for bail. The ruling Congress has unilaterally nominated him to the Rajya Sabha," he said on his official X handle.
"The news of the merger of the BRS with the ruling Congress is now authentic. Extraditions are next," he added.
In response, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao criticized Sanjay's comments, saying, "You are the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and are yet objecting to the Supreme Court's verdict. I respectfully request the Chief Justice of India and the Supreme Court to take note of these remarks and consider initiating contempt of court proceedings against you."
