Candidates of the Congress and the BJP lost their deposits.

Former MP and TRS leader K Kavitha today won the by-election for the MLC seat in the local bodies' quota for Nizamabad by a thumping majority.
Candidates of the Congress and the BJP lost their deposits.
While the win was widely anticipated, Kavitha set a record by getting 728 votes out of the 823.
Congress candidate S Subhash Reddy got only 59 votes, and the BJP candidate Y Lakshmi Narayana managed less than half of even that - just 29 votes.
10 votes were invalid, according to reports.
Kavitha expressed happiness on the huge victory, and thanked all those who made efforts for her victory.
She then visited the Neelakantheswar temple in Nizamabad town and performed special prayers.
The TRS machinery moved heaven and earth to ensure the victory of the CM's daughter, considering it a prestige issue. Local minister Prashanth Reddy, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other local leaders made joint efforts for her victory.
The victory is a relief for Kavitha, who suffered a hugely embarrassing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections last year.
