The BRS rebel appears keen on positioning her proposed party as a platform to protect Telangana's unique political identity.

Telangana Jagruthi President K Kavitha is reportedly intensifying efforts to carve out a distinct political space ahead of the next State Assembly elections.
Strong indications have emerged that she is preparing to launch a new political party, with election strategist Prashant Kishor playing a key advisory role.
According to sources, Kavitha has held multiple meetings with Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj Party, over the past two months. Kishor reportedly visited Hyderabad twice during this period and held detailed discussions, including a lengthy meeting during the Sankranthi festival, with her.
The talks are said to have focused on party formation, public ownership of political movements, grassroots engagement and policy framing rooted in the people's aspirations. Kavitha has already constituted around 50 committees to study key sectors and draft policy frameworks, signalling that preparations are at an advanced stage.
Kavitha, who played a prominent role in the Telangana Statehood movement, appears keen on positioning her proposed party as a platform to protect Telangana's unique political identity. Spearheading the Janam Bata (People's Path) outreach program, she has been touring the State, interacting directly with citizens and questioning the Congress-led government over governance and public issues.
Kishor, who has earlier worked with Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh, has seen mixed electoral outcomes in recent years. While his Jan Suraj Party failed to make an impact in Bihar, his professional consultancy remains active. His I-PAC team is currently working with Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress in West Bengal and actor Vijay's TVK in Tamil Nadu.
Interestingly, Kishor had earlier made sharp remarks against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during the Bihar political campaign, vowing to defeat him politically and strongly countering comments made on regional identity.
BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had also consulted Kishor ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections. However, the Congress went on to win, forming the government under Revanth Reddy.
For context, Kavitha was elected to the Lok Sabha from Nizamabad in 2014 as a TRS candidate but lost the seat in 2019 to the BJP's Dharmapuri Arvind. She later served as an MLC before resigning from both the BRS and the Legislative Council.
