Karim Morani Surrenders To Police In Rape Case

The Bollywood producer Karim Morani surrendered hours after the SC upheld the Hyderabad HC decision to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to him.
Hyderabad | 23rd September 2017
Hours after the Supreme Court upheld the Hyderabad High Court's decision to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to him on charges of raping an aspiring actress, Bollywood producer Karim Morani surrendered before the Hayathnagar police on Friday midnight.

A case had been booked against Morani in January this year by a 24-year-old woman accusing him of raping her several times in Mumbai and Hyderabad on the pretext of giving her roles in movies. As the police made moves to arrest him, Morani had approached courts and secured an anticipatory bail. However, the police filed a counter, and his petitions were dismissed by both the courts he approached.

Morani is the producer of movies like Ra.One, Happy New Year, Chennai Express and Dilwale.
