TDP chief and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is mulling replacing himself with a senior and loyal leader who can steer the party in the residual Andhra Pradesh.
If sources and some media reports are to be believed, Naidu is considering Kala Venkat Rao's name to head the party in AP, just as L Ramana is heading the party in Telangana.
Naidu reportedly wants to see the TDP as Bharatha Desam Party at the national level. If he has plans to become the president of such a possible national party avatar of the TDP, he needs to announce a president of the party for AP, replacing himself.
It is being stated that the TDP supremo may also consider names like Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu oar T D Janardhan Rao. However, there is no hurry, and Naidu may take ample time to announce the name of his successor. (NSS)
