Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and Telangana Telugu Desam Party leader E Dayakar Rao today got into a verbal duel during a developmental program at the Bammera village in Warangal.
This is the second such brawl in recent times as both the leaders from Warangal had already got into an altercation a few weeks ago on a similar occasion.
After the Deputy CM laid the foundation stone for various works, Rao alleged that the TRS government was deliberately making things difficult for certain opposition leaders. This was hampering the development of their segments, he said, and attributed it to Srihari's actions. Rao accused Srihari of literally stalling the funds from the government for taking up developmental works at Palakurthy, his home segment.
The Deputy CM hotly repudiated these charges and expressed serious discontent. The government did not show any partiality and all segments were equal to it, Srihari said.
As they exchanged words, the situation turned into a heated argument. Srihari said that the government did not act selectively with regard to the release of funds to any legislators. Rao however repeatedly alleged that Srihari was coming in the way of the development of his segment by pressing the government to deny funds. (NSS)
