TRS MLA K Tarakarama Rao on Monday said that the next 5 years would be a big test for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Speaking to media persons after meeting the MIM's leaders at Akbaruddin Owaisi's residence at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, KTR said that the TRS government would face several challenges in the next 5 years, and therefore needed the cooperation of all the different parties and sections of the society.
He said that the Telangana State needed development, peace and stability to achieve a higher growth rate. Muslims and Christians had a sizeable population in Telangana, and the development targets could not be achieved without their active cooperation, he stated.
KTR said that the TRS aimed to give new direction to Telangana, and that it would protect and promote the more-than-400-year-old culture of Hyderabad which would serve as the growth engine for the whole of Telangana.
He assured that the TRS would fulfill all the promises made by its president K Chandrasekhar Rao including those for the welfare of the minorities and for the protection of Wakf properties among others.
He said that the TRS would need the support of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen to pass the test during the next 5 years. (INN)
