In a distinction of sorts, Telangana minister K T Rama Rao has received an invitation to speak at an international summit to be held in Sri Lanka next month.
The Sri Lanka Human Capital Summit 2016 extended an invitation on Monday to KTR to address the event to be held at the Taj Samudra in Colombo on August 11 and 12.
The summit is being organized by the Sri Lankan government in collaboration with the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ABD) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Several important personalities such as Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and World Bank senior economist Dr Amit Dar will be addressing the summit. Wickremesinghe, who will be inaugurating the event, will be talking about "Sri Lanka As A Human Capital".
The focus of the summit will be on the human capital initiatives needed to support Sri Lanka's economic growth plans.
Rao has been asked to deliver a keynote speech in the island nation on "Building A Future-Ready Workforce" in which he would be talking about how the Telangana government planned to enhance the employability of its job seekers and the competitiveness of its employees, and thus build a workforce that could meet the challenges of the Indian economy.
