Congress MLC K R Amos on Wednesday demanded that the Centre give special package for Anantanpur and Kurnool districts, instead of merging with Telangana.
Speaking to media persons here, Amos said that the people of Telangana have been struggling for the last 6 decades seeking a statehood for the region, and that the fight was not for Rayala Telangana.
Therefore, he said that it would be morally incorrect on part of the Centre to accept the demand for a Rayala Telangana state.
Stating that the Congress party would be badly hit in the Telangana region if it goes ahead with the proposal, he said that the Centre could consider giving a special packages for Anantapur and Kurnool, by merging it with Seemandhra. (INN)
