Mahabubnagar is gearing up for the
Srikrishna Telangana Committee's interaction with its local residents today, and citizens are ready to spell out their stance on the Telangana issue.
Telangana committee members Dr. Ravinder Kaur and Dr. Abu Saleh Shareef reached Hyderabad on Sunday morning, and set out towards Mahabubnagar district - one of the most backward areas in the Telangana region - early Monday morning. Students, representative groups, political parties, women's associations and businessmen will all be included in the realm of people involved in this interaction, apart from the common man.
From Palamuru in Mahabubnagar, the committee will hold meetings in Kalvakurthy, Amangal and Madugula mandals during the day. Security arrangements have been made for the members, in the wake of concerns over anticipated attacks by local agitators.
The committee has already met women's organizations in Amanagallu district at 9:30 am.
The tour, scheduled for early April, was postponed on the advice of the Chief Minister in view of the
communal clashes that erupted in the city late last month.
