Jeevan Reddy Preparing To Quit Congress: Reports
The Congress may face a major setback in Jagtial district amid reports that the senior leader and former minister is preparing to resign from the party.
The ruling Congress in Telangana may face a major setback in Jagtial district amid reports that senior leader and former minister T Jeevan Reddy is preparing to resign from the party.
Sources indicate that Reddy is likely to step down soon and may join the BRS after March 20.
It is learnt that he has already held consultations with BRS chief KCR and the party's working president K T Rama Rao.
The veteran leader has reportedly been unhappy with the Congress leadership for some time, citing a lack of respect and the absence of a suitable role within the party. Recently, he removed the word Congress from his social media accounts and has been operating them solely under his own name.
Reddy has also publicly expressed dissatisfaction over the party giving priority to local MLA Sanjay in the district.
Political observers note that he did not actively campaign for Congress candidates during the recent municipal elections.
According to sources, the leader held consultations with close associates before deciding on his next political move. He is expected to announce his decision at a public meeting in Jagtial in the coming days.
