Senior Congress leader and former minister Jeevan Reddy has announced his decision to resign from the ruling party, saying that he could no longer continue his association with it.
"I can no longer continue in this party. I cannot bear this anguish. I no longer command any respect within the party," he said.
He said that he would tender his resignation from both his party membership and his AICC membership on the 25th of this month.
He added that he would announce his future course of action on the same day.
Reddy also appealed to party workers and supporters to attend a meeting scheduled to be held in Jagtial on the 25th and offer their advice and suggestions.
"The decision regarding my political future will be taken on the 25th of this month. I request party workers and close associates who have stood by me for four decades to share their suggestions. A meeting with key leaders will be held on the 25th at Bandaru Gardens in Jagtial," he said.
