Not a single acre of land was being irrigated with the projects constructed on the Telangana region, alleged Telangana senior Congress leader Palvai Govardhan Reddy.
Talking to media person at CLP office on Monday, Palvai demanded that the Dummugudem Sagar Tail-end project, to be constructed on with an estimate of Rs. 20,000 crore, be scrapped as it would benefit just the people of Andhra and not serve any purpose for the Telangana region.
He alleged that YSR's government had cheated Telangana farmers in the name of Jalayagnam.
Palvai urged Chief Minister K Rosaiah to appoint an experts' team to study the lapses in the implementation of irrigation schemes and to plug loopholes in them.
He said the government must look into the proper utilization of resources as it is the public's money that is being spent for their welfare and upliftment.
