The Returning Officer of Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies on Wednesday stated that 2 nominations have been filed for the Kadapa parliamentary seat and one for the Pulivendula Assembly constituency on Wednesday.
The Returning Officer stated that 2 nominations filed for the parliamentary seat are those of Jaganmohan Reddy Chintha and Vittal Subba Rao. The candidates filed their nominations as independents.
One set was filed in the name of P G Vijaya Lakshmi for the Pulivendula Assembly segment, as an independent.
Jagan's supporters have already alleged the ruling Congress party of resorting to 'cheap gimmicks' of confusing voters and thus ensuring that YSR's family members get as few votes as possible.
They said the Congress had resorted to this type of gimmicks in the recent Legislative Council elections as well, and added that despite thes tactics, YSR Congress party candidates had won.
Meanwhile, the last date for filing of nominations is April 18. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on April 19, and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is April 21. (INN)
