Jagan To Launch Padayatra Like YSR
Former MLA Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy says that Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will launch a padayatra in order to acquire national status for Pranahita-Chevella projects.
A day after the launch of the YSR Congress Party, former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's staunch supporter and former MLA, Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy, on Sunday expressed confidence that the new party would teach a fitting lesson to the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Govardhan Reddy told media persons that the launch of the new party has been welcomed with open arms by the people of the state who have been suffering under the misrule of the Congress since the tragic demise of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on September 2nd, 2009.
The former MLA said that the people of all the 3 regions of the state are looking upto Jaganmohan Reddy to implement his father's welfare schemes.
"This is the reason behind the people from all sections of society, cutting regional barriers, joining the new party and lending their support to Jaganmohan Reddy," he said.
Govardhan Reddy reminded that YSR revived the Congress in the state before the 2004 elections with his padayatra.
He added that Jaganmohan Reddy would follow in his father's footsteps and change the political scenario of the state with a similar padayatra.
Govardhan Reddy announced that Jaganmohan Reddy would launch the padayatra seeking National Project status for Pranahita-Chevella irrigation projects in the Telangana region soon.
Turning his attention to the Telugu Desam Party, the former MLA said that the party was more or less like a rudderless ship, without direction and with no goal in sight. Its leadership is divided on the Telangana issue and is adopting double standards, Govardhan stated.
