Chief Minister-designate of Andhra Pradesh Y S Jaganmohan Reddy received a grand welcome in a festive atmosphere at AP Bhavan in New Delhi today.
People waiting for him broke into an impromptu dance as he got down from his car to the sound of drum-beats. Vedic pundits showered him with their blessings invoking hymns and Vedic chants. IAS and IPS officials met him and extended their greetings.
Earlier, Jagan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for over an hour. He extended greetings to Modi on being re-elected for a second term as Prime Minister. Jagan also invited the Prime Minister to attend his swearing-in ceremony on May 30.
He sought the Centre's help for rebuild Andhra Pradesh and also requested Modi to speed up the process of release of funds to the State.
Jagan also discussed with the Prime Minister pressing subjects like the Polavaram project, the Kadapa steel plant and the Dugarajapatnam port.
The CM-elect was accompanied by AP Chief Secretary L V Subramanyam, and MPs V Vijayasai Reddy, Balashouri, Y S Avinash Reddy, Nandigama Suresh, P V Mithun Reddy and others.
