Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Forest Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy on Wednesday stated that the Centre has assured its consent for 4 irrigation projects in the state.
Talking to reporters after meeting Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh in New Delhi, the ministers said the state government has sought clearances from the environmental and forest ministries for 9 irrigation projects, 15 power projects and 2 aluminium projects.
The central minister has assured to give clearance for the 4 irrigation projects in a couple of days, it is reported.
Ponnala said the decision on the remaining projects will be taken up after discussing them with Chief Minister K Rosaiah in Hyderabad on August 19 or 20.
The ministers said the Union Minister has responded favourably to proposals, and that he has assured them that a decision will be taken soon after discussing with the officials concerned.
Minister for Rural Development Vatti Vasant Kumar, Small Scale Industries Minister DK Aruna and Higher Education Minister D Sridhar Babu were also present in the meeting.
