The Telangana government on Tuesday established a helpline in the NRI Cell in the State Secretariat to help the families of workers / migrants / other people from Telangana who are trapped in violence-hit Iraq.
The government has asked the District Collectors to approach the families of those who needed assistance, including evacuation.
The Collectors have been asked to collect the details like name, passport number, location in Iraq, company working for, local address in Iraq, contact numbers and any other useful information, so as to enable the Government of Telangana to get in touch with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Mission in Baghdad for further assistance.
The helplines have already been established in the Indian Mission in Baghdad with the following numbers:
The District Collectors have been asked to take necessary action for notifying the same and to ensure that all possible assistance is rendered to the families of those persons trapped in Iraq, according to Special Secretary (Protocol) N V Ramana Reddy. (INN)
