Describing the TRS as "Tiruguleni Rajakeeya Shakthi" (invincible political power), Telangana IT & Panchayat Raj minister K T Rama Rao said that his Party had rewritten history in Hyderabad through a clean sweep in the GHMC polls with the citizens giving it a massive mandate.
Ridiculing the Opposition parties for their baseless criticism, KTR said that the Opposition leaders should now respect the people's mandate and reform themselves as true politicians.
Addressing a jam-packed media conference along with ministers P Mahender Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy and T Srinivas Yadav, Party leader D Srinivas and others at Telangana Bhavan, KTR, who is to take over the Municipal Administration portfolio, too, said that the TRS had emerged as an unsurpassable political party.
The victory in the Greater Hyderabad polls could be attributed to the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he said. Every promise made and assurance given would be fulfilled, KTR announced amidst euphoria.
"The results reflect our working style and functioning, and all Hyderabadis expressed belief in the ruling Party. Irrespective of caste, religion and region, the people have emphatically voted for us, and the TRS government will make efforts to make Hyderabad a global destination," he said.
Minister Mahender Reddy said that the people had given such a massive mandate to the TRS in the belief that KCR alone could develop the city as a global destination.
Despite the Opposition's relentless propaganda, the people had reposed full faith in the ruling Party, he said.
Another minister Jagadish Reddy expressed satisfaction over the landslide victory in the GHMC elections. The results reflected a desire among the people to strengthen KCR's hands to make Hyderabad a global city and Telangana a golden State. The TRS regime would keep its all promises including free double bedroom houses, he vowed.
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that it was an overwhelming verdict by the people. He said in the 30 years of history of the Hyderabad municipal corporation, such a huge majority was not given to any single Party. The credit for winning such a majority would go to KTR, who had shown his dynamism and enthusiasm during the campaign, he stated.
D Srinivas said that KCR's leadership got support from all sections of the people. KCR would decide the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, and focus on implementing the Party's manifesto, he added.
