GHMC Elections On January 17, 50% Seats For Women
According to sources, an election notification might be issued by the Election Commission in a couple of days.

The much-awaited elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be held on January 17 of 2016.
The Election Commission reportedly took a decision to this effect on Friday.
According to informed sources, an election notification might be issued in a couple of days.
It was also learnt that it was decided to reserve 50% of the seats for women.
Meanwhile, while all the political parties in the State are getting ready to face the elections, the TRS is especially keen on a victory. Speaking to mediapersons at the Secretariat on Friday, Telangana minister and TRS leader K T Rama Rao said that the ruling TRS would win the Mayor's post and all the seats in the GHMC elections. He announced that the Party would contest independently. Stating that a special manifesto was being prepared for the GHMC elections, KTR exuded confidence that it would result in all "settlers" in the metropolitan city voting in favour of the ruling Party.
He also said that a special campaign titled "Get Out - Let's Vote" would be conducted to increase he polling percentage and create awareness among the voters, and added that a plan was on the cards to rope in cinema stars, sportsmen and other prominent people for the campaign.
Reacting to Election Commission serving notices on Chief Minister KCR and himself, KTR said that it was common to get confused over what constituted violation of the electoral code of conduct and that they would clarify.
