Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and Miryalaguda MLA Julakanti Ranga Reddy has urged Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to implement the GO 3.
Julakanti, along with his followers, met the Chief Minister at his chambers in the Secretariat on Wednesday, and appealed him to implement the GO 3 for the payment of salaries to Rozgar Workers (field assistants) who have been on strike for the past 10 days.
The CPM leader informed the Chief Minister that over 23,000 field assistants were working under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, and urged him to provide them job security by effecting their salary payments on priority.
Besides this, Julakanti also urged the Chief Minister to provide pensions, insurance claims, increments, leave provisions and promotions to the employees.
The Communist leader also pointed out that the cited GO 3 specified the implementation of wages and other facilities.
The assistants' current salary is Rs. 2,200, but as per the GO they are eligible to receive Rs. 8,400, he pointed out.
Despite repeated reminders, no action had been taken, he told media persons after his meeting with the Chief Minister. (INN)
