The Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) results that were released on Wednesday were a cause of celebration for the chain of Sri Chaitanya institutions in the city, with its students securing 3 (1st, 8th and 9th) ranks of the first 10 at the all-India level.
4,68,240 students all over India had attempted the IIT-JEE paper on April 10th, of whom 13,602 have passed the exam.
Dr. B S Rao, a co-founder of the Sri Chaitanya Techno Schools performed a victory dance after the results were announced, and declared that the institution would take up a social responsibility program in celebration of their achievement.
He stated that 20 villages affected with fluorosis would be adopted by Sri Chaitanya, and that the students would work towards controlling the levels of the disease in the adopted villages.
Speaking at the event, various students expressed their happiness at being able to secure a rank within the first 100 at the all-India level.
